Summary/Abstract: Alexandru Averescu (1859–1938), military career, politician, honor member of Romanian Academy, is one of the most known Romanian personalities from the beginning of XX century. The military dimension of Alexandru Averescu activity is emphasized by his military ranks and many functions he had mastered; for example: commandant of Superior War School in Bucharest (1894–1898), military attaché at Berlin (1895–1898), commandant of 1st Brigade Rosiori, Minister of War (1907–1909), commandant of 1st Infantry Division (1909–1911), chief of the Major Staff (1911–1913). On June 14, 1930 he acquired the honor dignity as „Marshall of Romania”. We also must remind that he authored some papers on different military matters. The political dimension of Alexandru Averescu’s activity is the same important as the military one. Many times he was Prime Minister (January March 1918, 1920–1921, 1926–1927); in 1918 he was the chief of People League which became in 1920 People Party. Around Alexandru Averescu, as politician to the respective times, a real myth was created. Starting from these brief ideas, in this paper I want to bring to front the both mentioned dimensions of the activity of Marshall Alexandru Averescu, therefore to bring a tribute to the completion of 75 years since his passing in the eternity.
