Summary/Abstract: In this particular chapter Dr. Ahmet Davutoglu compares the Islamic worldview, with other worldviews, mainly the Western one, by answering crucial questions such as: “What are the factors that keep together one ummah as various people which intentionally or unintentionally keep their individuality but at the same time cultivate their relations with universal Islam as their dearest spiritual possession? The author questions the capacity of modern, mainly Western oriented, scientific paradigms to answer this and similar questions and provides a comprehensive answer to the above mentioned question(s) by the way of explaining very thoroughly the internal consistency of the structure of Islamic belief and its social refl ections as natural consequences between ontology, epistemology, axiology and institutions and their overall realizations in a dependent relation as theoretical substance and social forms that yield dynamic character to Islamic civilization. Therefore, conflict and irreconcilableness between Islamic and Western civilization emerges because (among other things) of the difference in nature of their roots thus constituting them as an alternative worldviews to each other, rather than a difference in historical or political reasons that allow emergence of conflict and incompatibility between them.
