Summary/Abstract: This small study is an attempt to underline some important concepts and ideas in Greek philosophy and in European culture. Platonic words such as idea and eidos, Aristotelic technical terms like morphe, energeia, and hyle have left their indestructible imprint on Western civilization and afterwards on the global civilization. We are all now heirs to the civilization of Ancient Greece and one of its main contribution to the history of science and philosophy is the creation of the concept of physis (nature) that includes mankind; however, the human being, man and woman alike, are also conceived as agents and thinkers in the European and Western civilization; one of the objects of reflection for humankind remains physis, be it the kosmos or human nature. This is, at least partially, a legacy of Ancient Greece.
