Summary/Abstract: Anorexia nervosa is one of the most challenging mental disorders, both in terms of therapeutic approach and comorbidities and the background of patients, having a high mortality and dramatically decreasing the quality of life. In addition, to date, therapeutic protocols are not fully specified, and there is no targeted approach. Currently, psychotherapeutic interventions are the most used in the therapy of anorexia, although the addressability of patients is very low, given the value of the disease and the ambivalence they feel for treating their condition. There have been numerous attempts in the literature to establish an effective drug treatment for increasing the weight of patients and for treating the associated symptoms, but opinions on the effects of drugs are still divided. The aim of this paper is to make a synthesis of the literature on the resources of multidisciplinary approach to anorexia nervosa, with emphasis on the possibilities of psychopharmacological intervention in this disorder, which unfortunately is becoming more common.
