Summary/Abstract: The article contains issues and considerations related to programming and robotics in the new Core Curriculum in the context of competences, or rather their lack, among IT teachers. It addresses issues such as: 1) (un) IT competences of teachers, 2) considerations regarding the new Core Curriculum in Computer Science, 3) changes in the Core Curriculum regarding IT education in primary school, 4) Curriculum in Computer Science (retiring and new) and implemented programming and robotics content in primary school, 5) preparation of teachers in programming and robotics 6) tools and aids supporting learning of programming for students and teachers. IT teachers at primary school need support in preparing for the proper implementation of the new Core Curriculum in Information Technology.
