Summary/Abstract: This article attempts to discuss the importance of cultural security for the state of the security system. It presents the concept of cultural security and its most essential elements. Objectives and tasks resulting from the obligation to ensure cultural security by state institutions were discussed. From a historical perspective, the growing importance of cultural factors in conflicts and crises indicated doubts causing difficulties in rational assessment and identification of emerging threats.
