Summary/Abstract: Georgia started gradual building of Transcaucasian State during the reign of king Bagrat the 3-d(976-1014) The boundaries of Georgia in the 12thcentury was defined from „Nicopsia (Nicopsis-medieval town and fortress between contemporaryTuapse and New Athos) to Daruband“ (Derbend,the medieval fortress on the north coast of CaspianSea) and from „Ossetia (Nowaday North Ossetia)to Mount Aragats“ (Little Ararat mountains).The United Monarchy of Georgia established thecontrol for all the political units and states nearits boundaries: in the North Caucasia, South Caucasia etc. The borders of Georgia and areas of influence significantly icreased at the end of the 11thcentury and in the 12th century, but Georgian stateand culture achieved the top of its developmentduring the epoch of Queen Tamar (1184-1207/12).
