Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to point out the importance and complexity of mother tongue enrichment in an effort to develop or build a theology and a theological dictionary. Using the example of the national revivalist, theologian and Biblical scholar František Sušil working in the nineteenth century in Moravia, various approaches and motivations for developing and expanding the mother tongue can be observed. In addition to word formation using standard word composing approaches and verb substantiation, there will also be a focus on Sušil's original work, which attempts to refine the translation of Scripture and enrich the theological dictionary with new words which were missing in the Czech language in nineteenth century theology. The evaluation points out Sušil's excessive efforts, which somewhat adversely affects his own work, but which also forces us to think about our language even at present.
