Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with the former lives of the people within the municipality of Dugopolje, the rural and annual customs related to holidays such as Christmas, Palm Sunday and Easter. On the day before Christmas, men would prepare yule logs for the fire and mostly rest, while women would cook, prepare meals and desserts, and do the cleaning. The blessing of the olive tree branches in church takes place on Palm Sunday, while the blessing of the Easter food (eggs, bread, leek, etc.) takes place on Easter Saturday. One of the most popular Easter traditions is egg dyeing. On Easter, a plentiful breakfast is served with all the blessed food.
