Summary/Abstract: The diplomatic relations between Serbia, which gained its independence with the Treaty of Berlin 1878, and the Ottoman Empire constituted the subject of this study. The relations between the two countries were discussed in the case of the Ottoman Empire’s Ambassador to Belgrade Yusuf Ziya Pasha. In the study, after discussing the process of starting the Ottoman-Serbian diplomatic relations, the problems experienced, and the appointed ambassadors and consuls, the biography of the Ottoman Empire's Ambassador to Belgrade Yusuf Ziya Pasha and his activities in Belgrade were discussed. The Ottoman Archival documents were used in the study.
