Summary/Abstract: We live in a changing and increasingly challenging world. The arc of insecurity around our borders to the south, the ongoing conflict in Syria, Iran’s nuclear ambitions, the Ukraine conflict and also a more assertive Russia to the east pose huge foreign and security policy challenges for the European Union. To address these challenges, we need a united EU foreign and security policy that is fit for purpose. The Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) has vast untapped potential – I will address some of the changes we need to make to unlock it.
