Summary/Abstract: The study addresses the ethnic identity of the Republic of Moldova in the light of the Transnistrian conflict. The primary sources used are part of the collection of local newspapers on both banks of the Nistru River in order to indicate more clearly the vision and propaganda methods used by both blocks.The study aims at clarifying the role played by the ethnic identify in this conflict and the changes this identity gone through during this event. In addition, the main strategic movements addressed by both blocks and the results that have occurred after the conflict ended are also up for discussion.
