Summary/Abstract: The negotiation process, used as the basic tool for resolving the Transnistrian conflict, includes the problem of telecommunications in the agenda. Following the signing of the Peaceful Settlement of Conflict Agreement, the parties have developed their own telecommunications systems. However, after a long period of negotiations, the parties reached a common understanding on the importance of interaction in the field of telecommunications. In 2017, Chisinau and Tiraspol signed a Protocol "On measures to organize interaction in the field of telecommunications". The document stipulates the need for direct interconnection of fixed, mobile and Internet networks. During 2020, the parties deepened their regulation of the telecommunications situation, but a change, a joint move of the parties in this regard, has not yet been registered.Although the issue seems to be suspended, negotiations are still ongoing and little progress has been made in regulating the telecommunications situation on both banks of the Dniester.
