Summary/Abstract: God reveals Himself as light from the very act of creation, as soon as He utters thewords „Let there be light!” (Gen. 1, 3). This primordial light, springing from theBeing of the Trinity, is the fi rst revelation of the Image of God to the world. Eversince, humanity has known God as light even if, after falling into sin, few have beenthose who have found grace and could contemplate God in His unapproachable, mysterious, impenetrable light. Although there is no reference to this reality in theOld Testament, at least we know that Moses knew God as light (Ex. 3 and 32-33),because his own face had been endowed with light. Given that most references toGod as Light are in the psalms, I believe it is necessary to study more carefully thetexts that reveal to us the truth about godly light. I shall thus contribute to rebuildingthe discourse of the Old Testament with respect to the light that appeared from thevery beginning of the world in order to reveal everything.
