Summary/Abstract: Enterprises cooperating with business partners are constantly looking for ways and instrumental, thanks to which they will stand out in a highly developer and competitive market, which will translate into their success. One of such instruments is relational competence. The aim of the article is to present a number of factors that create the relational competence of small and medium-sized enterprises and their importance in creating measurable benefits in interorganizational cooperation. This is justified especially in changing conditions of the environment, where the successful prospering and maintenance of enterprises on the competitive market may be a consequence of the proper use of managerial skills and the company’s resources in relations with external entities.
