Nation bulidng - Challenges to National Identity

Summary/Abstract: The first section of this paper provides a brief overview of the definition of nation, the origins and emergence of nation-states and the basic factors that led to their creation. It goes on to discuss the issue of nation-building, the actors in the process, and the obstacles in the way of building and sustaining a nation-state. The final section of the paper deals with aspects of this issue and the challenges of national identity in the society of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
