Summary/Abstract: The present paper aims to present the types of peasant technical installations used for the preparation of food raw materials in the area of Arad County. The study is based on the information provided by the published bibliography related to the technical creations of the rural world belonging to the peasant agriculture-food industries, as well as on the information obtained from field research conducted in recent years, which provides a real picture of their current situation. We turned our attention to the main source of food in Arad County, which are cereals, whose path from grain to flour needed to prepare bread necessarily passed through a grinding plant - the mill. During the fasting periods, the Romanian peasant used everything that the surrounding nature offered him, and the preparation of the vegetable oil with which he cooked required a technical squeezing installation - the press. It has been widely used in viticulture for squeezing grapes to make wine. Fruits eaten in various forms were present in the traditional diet, and their preservation for a longer period made it necessary to create dry ovens in the fruit regions. Peasant technical installations have given birth to crafts related to traditional food, they require special skills both in their construction and skill in their operation and maintenance. Some of these installations have survived the passage of time undergoing changes imposed by technical evolution and modernization.
