Summary/Abstract: The rose, one of the plants of civilization, became widespread in the Mediterranean during Hellenism and following on it became a living being in human culture in the antique and then in Muslim and Christian worlds. The four types of wild roses whose horticultural variants man is interested in have been utilized in three ways: food source, raw material for health care and hygiene products and accessories at cult and sacral events. Study reviews the initial time it took for the rose to move from Asia Minor to the populated area of Greece.
