Summary/Abstract: The present sketches accentuate on one of the most-enigmatic figures in the Bulgarian history – the “peasant” king Ivaylo. The grounds for his ascending of the throne are searched in an alternative interpretation of the tsarist idea, different of that, which the capital-center imposes. Its symbols are marked in historic-apocalyptic books that bear the marks of the peripheral in the same way as did Ivaylo. The argument for the throne between him and his two opponents Ivan Asen III and Georgy I Terter in fact is an argument of three types of truthfulness: the Byzantine political idea, the T.rnovo high state idea and the uncontrollable periphery.
