Summary/Abstract: This essay aims at exploring media representation of Muslim women participation in U.S. politics. It focuses on how mass media reflected, particularly, the participation of Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar in the American Congressional elections of 2018. The article will try to cover how mass and social media presented feedback on the participation of those two politicians to be the first Palestinian American and the first Somali American legislators respectively. Throughout the discussion, the paper will draw on issues like the fighting for recognition by women of color, women who wear hijab, women immigrants against racism and sexism along with their engagement in the political process in the U.S. The essay also aims to reflect on the fact that becoming the first Muslim women elected to the US Congress in 2018 is regarded by the American media and the worlds media as a new step towards writing a new history of legislation that will shake the white and male dominated halls of the US congress.
