Summary/Abstract: We tried to illustrate the first steps of ethnographic museography in Romania, especially in Transylvania, the way in which the permanent exhibitions were conceived, without neglecting aspects related to the first steps taken in the direction of the practices of conservation for ethnographic objects. We have examined different stages of different political moments, in order to illustrate the efforts of ethnographers.
