Summary/Abstract: Crises have historically marked the daily life of people and never stopped punctuating social and political life of nations. In the different countries of the world, the term “crisis” becomes a political banner, waved whenever we want to persuade recalcitrant people or get them to adhere to a particular opinion. This is especially true when one knows that the word ‘crisis’ offers a broad spectrum of meanings. Nowadays, the word “crisis” is widely used and enjoys great success.Among all the world crisis such as trade crisis between China and the United States of America, migratory crisis at the borders of Europe or the health crisis which we are facing today, political and media discourse creates the feeling that everything is wrong and put language at the center of a persuasion strategy. Indeed, in times of crisis, mobilizing all language skills is more than necessary for better communication. This article intends to highlight the linguistic phenomena which marked the communication around the Covid-19 pandemic. Some of communication practices have intensified throughout this health crisis to the point where new linguistic uses appear among the relevant stakeholders demonstrating the close and old relationship that exists between language and crisis.
