Summary/Abstract: The thesis compares two novels by Karel Dvořáček and Gottfried Rothacker who are considered typical representatives of Czech- and German-written literature of the interbellum period in the broader Moravian-Silesian region. From the beginning, the thesis employs current theories of gender studies in its endeavor to elaborate an up-to-date and accurate analysis of the topic of woman, gender, and construction of female gender identity within two different ideologies.
