Summary/Abstract: All over the world, urban agriculture is being developed in order to improve health in cities – understood both as urban dwellers’ health and the survival of a healthy urban form. Using examples from Europe and the Americas, this article shows how urban agriculture responds to multiple challenges, such as climate change, public health or the deterioration of the urban environment, and challenges traditional governance and urban management.
