UNIFICATION OF ARCHIVAL TERMINOLOGY IN ARCHIVAL DESCRIPTION

Summary/Abstract: Although the institutional activity of archives in Albania is more consolidated, an agreement on the terms of the description of archival documents, with all the trials that deserve to be appreciated, is still fluctuating and unsettled. Publishing of one document with unified terminology for the description of archival documents should be understood as a necessity for interaction, communication, openness to the public and integration. Archival institutions in Albania and those that administer cultural heritage have funds with the same fields of knowledge, provide the same services and share the same objectives, so drafting an agreement on the terms of archival descriptions a crucial issue. This article aims to bring to the attention of the leaders of archival institutions the issue of normalization and standardization of archival terminology in the process of indexing archival units as a very good opportunity force operation and coordination.
