Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the Italian political language during the recent Covid-19 crisis, examining its key characteristics and its mechanisms of linguistic obscurity. The Italian political language during the pandemic crisis has been analysed in relation to politichese, gentese and burocratese. The analysis identifies new hybrid mechanisms of linguistic obscurity.
