The article presents the results of research on soldiers workplace learning. The research was conducted by not associated with the army researcher representing education sciences, using a diagnostic survey on a group of 272 NATO soldiers stationed on the Polish territory. It turns out that soldiers learning in the formula of permanent military training is a process experienced in a very individualized styles. Opinions on learning differentiate more by the age of soldiers than by belonging to the corps (privates, non-commissioned officers, officers). Soldiers' opinions about their learning are also dependent on their value system, although it is difficult to point to any regularities. It is quite common for soldiers to feel that their learning is organized in very formal formula, what is expressed in the fact that trainings are focused more on the achieving the purposes of training then on the purpose of soldiers learning. The results of the study can be a voice in the ongoing discussion on the future of military training.
