Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the education of girls at normal schools in Košice by 1938. The first part discusses the education and training of women teachers of national (elementary) and burgher's (civic) schools. Until 1919, there were two Roman Catholic normal schools (boys' and girls') in Košice. In the 1920s there was a state normal school in Košice where girls and boys were educated together. Since the school year 1937/38, a Roman Catholic normal school of Ursulines was re-opened in the city to educate girls. In the second part, the study is devoted to the education and training of kindergarten teachers and female handicrafts teachers at Košice vocational normal schools established in the 1930s', which were administered by the Dominican Order. The study points to legislation that governed the functioning of individual types of normal schools and the study of girls there. It brings information on the conditions of admission of pupils and, it also provides an overview of the structure of pupils from a gender, national and religious perspective for some schools. It also deals with the subjects of mentioned schools.
