A DESCRIPTION OF THE SIHLA HERMITAGE FROM THE 19TH CENTURY

Summary/Abstract: Archimandrite Andronic Popovici, in his writings on the History of the Neamț and SecuMonasteries that are kept in the National Archives of the Republic of Moldova, dedicated the tenthbook to the description of the sketes of these monasteries as they were in the mid-19th century. Thiswork also describes the Sihla hermitage in the Neamt Mountains, a description that begins with theaccess road to the monastic settlement, the churches with all the objects used to carry out the worship,the annexed buildings, the natural resources from which the monastic community could be used indaily life, and the manner in which the religious ritual was conducted in those times.
