Summary/Abstract: Migration is one of the oldest social phenomenons, emphasizeing the actual ideea that it isactually a social phenomenon as a whole, because in this way one can know how society is overall.The literature in this area is diverse and refers to migration flows, transnationalism, remittances,former migrant mentalities, but also discrimination, social inequities on the labour market.If we relateto the case of Romanian immigrants that are working legally in Italy, we can encounter instances ofdifferentiated treatment on the labour market. We cannot say that in most cases the Romanians arediscriminated, however, by making in the next three years the doctoral project entitled SocialDiscrimination and Inequities on the Labour Market. The Case of Romanian Migrants from Italy, weintend to investigate what are the main reasons that lead to the emergence of the idea that there isdiscrimination, in the context of the existence of a democratic framework which ensures values such ashuman dignity, equal opportunities and freedom.In terms of the purpose of the study is methodological will mainly focus on qualitativeresearch-based on interviews conducted with Romanians, but also with experts from the two countries.We consider the establishment of a content analysis of Romanian and Italian press, to which willsupplement the content analysis of the laws of the two countries
