Summary/Abstract: The record of the canonical visitation of the Greek Catholic parishes of the Bačka-Srem Deanery of the Eparchy of Križevci from 1838 is the only one known and only partially used in the historiography of the Ruthenians in Southern Hungary in the 19th century. The document is very important because it gives a lot of information on the church life, on the church itself and the parish life, on the church inventory, priests, teachers and cantors, and particularly on church and religious life, services and their maintenance, on church and religious rites, and the believers. Besides, the record contains minute details on the economic life, on the estate and revenues of the church, parish and school, data on the income of priests, teachers and cantors, on the land for use given as a benefit by the Chamber and alike. The supplement gives a brief overview of the comparisons of the record of the canonical visitation of the Greek Catholic parishes of the Bačka-Srem Deanery from 1838 with the records of the canonical visitation of the Evangelical church communities of the Bačka-Srem and Banat Deanery within the Banska District from 1835 and the records of the canonical visitation of Osjek and the surroundings of the Diocese of Djakovo from 1833, pointing out their similarities and differences.
