Summary/Abstract: This paper proposes a framework for coming to terms with conspiracy theories associally-meaningful, myth-related narratives. They are instances of counterfactual thinking that convey shared values by (often stereotypical) narrative patterns; in doing so, they build self-awareness and social reality. Moreover, this is an attempt to gain a better understanding of the socio-political, anthropological or technological dynamics that undergird the phenomenon of conspiracy theorizing, which, time and again, has been caricatured in mainstream culture.
