Summary/Abstract: The presence of the great personalities of a country in the collective memory is a normalphenomenon, which occurs in all nations. People feel connected to those who played a decisive role inthe decisive moments of the history of their country; it is their duty to perpetuate their memory and tohonor their deeds. Mihai Viteazul is perhaps the most important personality of the Romanian nation,and his name is frequently found today, more than four centuries from the time he lived. The presentarticle realizes a review of the ways in which the name of the great voivod is linked today to the dailylife of Romanians, with examples from different spheres of social existence
