Summary/Abstract: The history of the natural medicine from medicinal plants is identified in Romania with theDYNASTY of PHARMACISTS VOREL. The beginning of the green pharmacy in Piatra Neamţ coincideswith the beginning of the modern history of the Romanians. In 1835, the members of the Society ofPhysicians and Naturalists from Iaşi, Szabo and Edel, embarked on a scientific expedition on theMoldavian lands, visited the pharmacist Vorel in Piatra. At the same time, Anton Vorel is also receivedamong the members of the Iași Society of Physicians and Naturalists. In 1837, Anton Vorel successfullypassed the exam he underwent on the occasion of the pharmacy revision. Lascăr took over thepharmacy in Piatra in 1878 and continued the tradition of his father Anton. In 1883 he became asupplier to the royal court and obtained a diploma for the "pharmaceutical industry in Romania". VorelPharmacy is moving to its new location which is known even today, also in Piatra-Neamt. The inventoryof the Vorel Pharmacy from 1915 shows us a very well-equipped modern pharmacy and the ratherpronounced beginnings of the Laboratory. He had been in contact with Bayer since 1915. Between 1937and 1943, the number of companies with which he collaborated amounted to 40. Constantin Vorel waspresident of the Neamț Pharmaceutical College. In 1941, the number of VOREL-branded productsreached 100, being requested in Africa. The glory period of the Vorel pharmacy coincided with theinterwar period, the period of Greater Romania. The outbreak of World War II and the disintegration ofRomania in 1918 marked the beginning of the end of pharmacy. The establishment of communism in1947 and the nationalization that started a year later led to the closure of the gates of the old pharmacyand the transfer of its scientific heritage to the Iasi Antibiotic Medicines Factory.
