Sources of information for kynologists

Summary/Abstract: As we might think that we know everything of dogs, for dog domestication took place tens of thousands years ago and dogs have accompanied the humans since then, both at work and at home – kynology has developed greatly over the years. The article aims to answer the questions of the thematic scope that is of interest to kynologists, where they retrieve information from and what omissions have been disclosed in the selected sources. Along with theoretical considerations the article presents the results of the questionnaire on the sources of kynological information. As predicted, the most popular medium was the Internet. The respondents have also provided a list of reservations concerning the contents of the selected literature and are willing to further extend knowledge on dogs.
