The basic problems affecting the logistical determinants of crisis management

Summary/Abstract: The goal of this paper is to pinpoint and recognise the basic problems that affect logistical determinants of crisis management. The theoretical part looks at the essence of crisis logistics, and the problems, barriers and challenges that occur in humanitarian supply chains. The empirical part of the paper deals with the validity of the identified issues based on the subject literature. The research sample consists of subjects participating in crisis management activities. The research was conducted by means of a diagnostic poll method with the application of a survey techniques called Paper and Pencil Interview, and Computer Assisted Personal Interview. The research was carried out in the period from December 2019 to February 2020 and allowed the respondents to identify the critical areas of crisis management. From an operational point of view, in the studied area, there are numerous barriers and restrictions which include poor communication, coordination and synchronization of crisis management network subjects, frequently limited financial, personal, material and information resources, increasing marketization of non-governmental organizations, a high level of employee turnover, and the lack of indicators that would allow a further analysis and the assessment of the activities.
