Summary/Abstract: Political parties, their representatives and various political consultants have reacted to the contemporary changing environment of the electoral competition which has developed to its post-modern phase. This is characterized by the fragmentation and complexity of the media environment, which is constantly changing, expanding and developing technologically and can be confusing. At the same time there has been an increase in the role of the electronic media and primarily the Internet. This article aims to describe a origin and development of permanent campaign and analyses the role of political consultants. Finally, this article shows the first usage of permanent campaign in the Czech republic.
