Summary/Abstract: The Bavarian provincial exposition, which was organised in 2014 at Regensburg, undertook to present at three urban venues the career of Louis, Duke of Bavaria, more commonly known as Louis the Bavarian, who was elected as King of the Romans 700 years ago. His story constituted one peculiar chapter in the long competition between the Habsburg, Luxembourg and Wittelsbach dynasties, which dominated the entire 14th century. Alongside treating the various political struggles, such as the excommunication of 1327, which is discussed with much detail, the organisers also took pains to off er the visitors a picture of everyday life and in particular of contemporary Regensburg, and project a view of the later reception of various 14th-century events.
