Report on the state of a municipality (district, voivodeship)

Summary/Abstract: In 2018, a new institution was introduced – a report on the state of the municipality, district and voivodship. The report is supposed to summarize the activities of the executive bodies of local government units. It is a kind of compendium of knowledge about the activities undertaken by the mayor (president) of a municipality, district board or voivodship board. This document should contain general and concise information on the activities of the executive body in the previous year, in particular regarding the implementation of policies, programs and strategies, resolutions and the civic budget. The provisions of acts on local government do not prejudge, however, what scope of information on the activities of the executive body should be included in the report. This regulation raises a number of controversies and doubts.
