Summary/Abstract: Part of a broader research devoted to understanding the phenomenon of addiction interms of the Eastern Patristic notion of passion, this paper aims to argue the relevance of identifying a Patristic model of human behavior, in this case, by investigating the work of St. Maximus the Confessor and outlining some possible paths tofollow in this regard. The main part of the paper explores St. Maximus’ idea of threemajor realities, God, the nature, and the world, that lead or attract human mattersand therefore model human behaviour.
