Transformation of Traditional Theater Instruments in the Digital Age: Examples of Practices in Turkish Theater

Summary/Abstract: One of the most important technological developments in the 20thcentury undoubtedly was the spread of digital phenomena all around the world like an epidemic, since “the internet technology” has become a tool being used by everyone with its customization as of the 1990s, which also changed and trans-formed the individual, mass and organizational actions in several communities across the world. Nowadays the techniques of the Traditional Turkish Theatre are rarely used in their original way but it’s possible to find examples by looking at the modern theatre and taking the technology used there into account. The article deals with the specifics of contemporary Turkish theatre that uses some of the techniques of the Traditional Turkish Theatre.
