Summary/Abstract: The article deals with three distinct periods of crisis in the first half of the twentieth century in Bulgaria, the years immediately after the First World War, the time of the Great Depression (the 1930s) and the beginning of the next world catastrophe. The interest is focused on the way of experiencing the crisis periods, reflected on the pages of the humanitarian periodicals or in special researches on the topic. The common moment in the sensations of deep change of the world and man is sought. The selected accents in the article are two – on the experiences of time as historical, and on the new social attitudes oriented towards the collective or mass man. The study of the crises of the first half of the last century in Bulgaria is not an end in itself as a historical and philosophical text; it aims to capture the existential transformations typical of crisis experiences in the light of recent events on a global scale.
