Summary/Abstract: The text contains a critical comment of most of the theses set forth in Spiridon Kazandjiev’s brochure entitled “Historical Time. The Crisis in the Material and Spiritual Life”. The author states that no doubt there are true statements in it, but in his view the characteristic of the spiritual life of the time is rather dubious and obviously inaccurate and wrong at times. He has not found any satisfactory answers to the questions of the beginning and the end, about the manifestations of the analyzed crisis in the contemporary economic, political and above all in the spiritual life. According to him, the description of reality in art, religion and ethics is badly stylized, vague and exaggerated by Kazandjiev. The latter’s findings on the current state of philosophy and science are also untrue. Those signs of the crisis are not characteristic of the epoch for they can be detected in other times as well. Overall, the text lacks flexibility and breadth.
