Summary/Abstract: Krasiński used symbolism of a Christian temple in Three Thoughts of Ligenza in order to present a historiosophic concept of the chosen nation (the Polish) playing the role of a guide to other nations on the way to salvation foretold in the Bible. Referring to the space of a medieval sacral building (the cathedral of Monreale), the author showed the messianic idea in poetics typical of late Gothic. This kind of poetics is not supposed, like in early romanticism, to create the atmosphere of fear, some fantastic aura etc. Its role is to explain the rules of historical development of each nation and the whole humanity.
