Summary/Abstract: The paper examines the normative substance and functional roles of the legal concept of (human) dignity in the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court of Croatia. In these two aspects, the Constitutional Court’s dignity jurisprudence is compared with the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights, the Court of Justice of the European Union, and high (constitutional and supreme) courts of other European states.
