Summary/Abstract: THIS PAPER AIMS TO DISCUSS HOW ROMANIAN AUTHOR MIHAIL SADOVEANU DISGUISES AND INSERTS VARIOUS TYPES OF ESOTERIC ELEMENTS AND LEARNINGS IN HIS NOVEL, CREANGA DE AUR. FOR THIS PARTICULAR WRITING, SADOVEANU OFFERED A KEY OF READING IN THE SENSE THAT THE AUTHOR PREVIOUSLY EMPHASIZED THE CHANGES HE HAD BEEN GOING THROUGH SINCE HE ENTERED THE FREEMASONRY. THIS ASPECT OF HIS BIOGRAPHY HAS LEFT A DEEP IMPRINT ON THE WORK AND CONSCIENCE OF THE WRITER. CREANGA DE AUR IS, UNQUESTIONABLY, A NOVEL ABOUT INITIATION AND ABOUT HUMAN BEINGS FULFILLING MISSIONS THAT ARE ABOVE THE PROFANE WORLD.
