Summary/Abstract: SOCIAL MOVEMENTS ARE RARELY APPROACHED AS A PRIMARY OBJECT, BUT RATHER AS A PARTICULAR CASE, SO THEY ARE STUDIED AS SPECIFIC FORMS OF COLLECTIVE BEHAVIOR OR INDIRECTLY ADDRESSED BY THE GLOBAL PRISM OF COLLECTIVE VIOLENCE, REPRESENTING, ACCORDING TO SOME RESEARCHERS, THE MAJOR PHENOMENON TO BE EXPLAINED. IT IS DIFFICULT, HOWEVER, TO TALK ABOUT A "CLASSIC" MODEL OF "SOCIAL MOVEMENTS".
