Summary/Abstract: In contemporary literature for children and young adults, intermedial works are becoming common place. It requires experts from a number of different branches of art to carry out their analysis, interpretation and evaluation. In 2019 Monika Kompaníková, an experienced author with notable awards for her works, published three books for children and young adults: Where is Ester N? (Slovak National Gallery), The end of the world and what is beyond (Artforum) and Toddler Punk: Ťulino’s musical stories (Monokel). Due to the specific children audience, the published books are characterized by a striking visual (illustrative) component, while Toddler Punk is a part of a larger music-book project. The analysis of the above-mentioned texts showed an unequal aesthetic and artistic value in both M. Kompaníková’s scope of work as well as in contemporary artistic works for children and young adults.
