Published authorial work of Czech writers with Down syndrome

Summary/Abstract: This paper introduces four Czech writers with Down syndrome – Jiří Šedý, Denisa Střihavková, Františka Barborka Pošmourná and Anežka Marušincová. It shows that despite their disability they are able to create unique works, including the distinctive characteristics of each of them. There are three essential aspects of these works – the narrative line (with literary styles and genres, stylistic techniques, and narrator), lexical line (text coherence, individual lexicon, poetic language), and themes connecting all of these books (own experience, life perspectives, religion).
