Summary/Abstract: This paper reviews some of the experiments in the Bulgarian theatrical practice of stage directors Stoyan Kambarev and Elena Tsikova in collaboration with stage designers Violeta Radkova and Krassimir Valkanov, in order to trace some of the changes in the thinking of theatre space as an independent aesthetic subject. The study explores two productions at Ruse State Theatre of the turn of the 1990s.
